Grandpa Stewart

I know the grankids are enough to lure you, BUT....

April fools jokes

I would LOVE it if you all would post some of your favorite family/kid-style April fool's jokes in the comments section!

I want to do something fun, but we don't have a sink sprayer to tape, and I'm not punishing myself by saran wrapping the toilets! Any ideas? I'm sure other people would enjoy reading them too!

Thanks!

Abby who?

Abby used to sign all her school work Abby S. (She has an Abby L. in her class.) Now it has changed to "AbbyLynnStewart" usually all run together. Daniel and I had a good laugh when she brought a paper home signed (and who knew she understood parenthesis?):

9 1/2? Brown hair?

A while ago I finally admitted that I had brown hair. It's hard when you grew up blond. But when I heard Abby telling someone her Mom was "the lady over there with the brown hair" I decided I must admit defeat. But it's ok, I like my evolved color.

I've always been a size 9 shoe. But my toes have been complaining. Three pairs of shoes are just too small! Can feet grow at this point in life? The shoes have probably always been snug, but it didn't bother me. Now it does. It is disappointing. When I was shoe shopping this weekend I tried on a lot of 9 1/2's and a lot of them fit! Sigh. At least I got a new pair of (very comfortable) running shoes out of this.

Twilight Movie par-tay

I don't often throw parties.
Let me rephrase.
Ok, I don't often throw parties for adults. Considering my excitement over Twilight, and friends I knew who shared the excitement, how could I resist? Here's a peek into the festivities...
The treat I brought: We also had blood punch, with an apple (like the book cover) floating in it. And movie actors taped to every cup. (Thank you, Megan.) How festive was that? The guests brought tons of other yummy treats. We even had a couple games with prizes. (Email me if you want I'll email them to you.) And none included the phrase "pin the tail on the" or "duck duck". What a phenomenon. Here are a few of the girls settling in for the show...

Holly offered her house for the party and came up with some awesome favors/prizes. And amazing caramel popcorn. Thanks Holly!!

I had fun shredding up a dollar-tree tablecloth and hanging it with some red streamers. Just a little vampire ambiance.
So, Megan and I were joking about how it was dumb taking a picture at the end of the night, instead of at the beginning when we actually looked good. So we were ratting our hair and making ourselves look worse. Then I pull some stupid "scary" face...thinking she was doing the same...

obviously I was wrong.
Even though the movie wasn't all I'd had hoped for, how could I have not thoroughly enjoyed it with all these fun people?!

Pinewood Derby

Andrew just competed in his first pinewood derby! It was quite a fun event--really well run and we had loads of enthusiasm! Each car raced once in each of the three lanes. There were somewhere around 40 racers. Andrew's car came in first each time it went down the track! That doesn't mean he placed but wow, to see his car "win" was awesome!
